OTA made several key submissions to SIRA about regulation of new workers compensation laws in NSW, as it pertains to Occupational Therapy, as follows.
- Assurance that key OT practice elements inform oversight of reforms
- Apply flexibility in regulatory approach that will prevent delays, if required.
- Recognition that “reasonable and necessary” parameters create administrative burden
- Apply evidence requirements in psychological injury claims proportionately
- Apply a trauma informed approach to claim-review processes
- Ensure regulatory approach not create treatment barriers in regional and remote areas.
- Review recognition requirements for Occupational Therapists in NSW
